Javier Pérez‑Ramírez is Full Professor of Catalysis Engineering at ETH Zurich since 2010. His research connects catalyst design, reaction engineering, process concepts, and sustainability metrics to develop new catalytic technologies that enable circular carbon utilization.

He studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Alicante and received his PhD at Delft University of Technology. He serves as the Chair of the Editorial Board of Green Chemistry and directs NCCR Catalysis, a Swiss Centre of Competence in Research devoted to developing carbon‑neutral chemicals across the whole value chain through catalytic processes.
