Post-Congress Summer School

C-NET International School on Mechanochemistry for Chemical Reactions & Synthesis

6-8 September 2027 • Udine, Italy

Chairpersons / organizers

Sara Colussi, Maila Danielis
Università degli Studi di Udine, Udine, Italy

A short description

Mechanochemistry is a powerful and sustainable approach for driving chemical transformations while reducing or eliminating the need for solvents and enabling access to unique materials properties and reaction pathways.

The school is intended for PhD students and post-docs, to introduce the fundamental principles of mechanochemistry and the latest developments in the field, with a particular focus on mechanochemically driven reactions and the mechanochemical synthesis of catalysts and functional materials. An overview of the distinctive reactivity enabled by mechanochemical methods, their broad potential in synthetic chemistry and in energy-efficient preparation methods of advanced materials with tailored properties and structure–property relationships, coupled with in situ characterization, will be presented.

Together, these topics will illustrate how mechanochemistry is transforming both fundamental research and practical applications in catalysis and materials science.
