Getting to Ljubljana by Air
The nearest airport is Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport (LJU), located approximately 25 km northwest of the city centre.
We recommend booking your flights early to secure the best connections and fares.
Other nearby international airports include:

- Zagreb Airport (ZAG) – 150 km
- Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) – 225 km
- Venice Treviso Airport (TSF) – 235km
All of these airports are well connected to Ljubljana by GoOpti shuttle transfers.
Airport to the City Centre
The easiest way to reach Ljubljana city centre from Ljubljana Airport is by GoOpti shuttle transfer. We recommend booking your transfer in advance to ensure a smooth and hassle-free journey.
Public transport from the airport is limited and less convenient, while taxi services typically cost €60 or more for a one-way trip.
The journey from Ljubljana Airport to the city centre takes approximately 30–40 minutes.
Getting to Ljubljana by Train
Ljubljana is connected by international rail services from many European cities, including Vienna, Munich, Zurich, Budapest. For booking we recomend using OBB site.
Ljubljana Railway Station is located about 1.5 km (20 minutes on foot) from Cankarjev dom, making it easy to reach the congress venue without additional transport.
Getting to Cankarjev dom
The congress will take place at Cankarjev dom, Slovenia’s largest cultural and congress centre, located in the heart of Ljubljana.
The venue is within walking distance of the city’s major hotels, the Old Town, and the main railway and bus stations. Ljubljana’s compact city centre makes it easy to reach the venue on foot from most central accommodations.

Visa information
Participants who require a visa to enter Slovenia need to request a letter of guarantee, which will be issued by the Conference Secretariat. The letter of guarantee is issued exclusively for the purposes of visa arrangements and does not imply provision of any financial or other support.
Information on visas and addresses of embassies is available on the web site of the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In case you apply for a visa at an embassy, please fill in the form below in order to obtain the letter of guarantee and send it by e-mail to [email protected].
Participants who already possess a valid Schengen visa type C or a valid residence permit issued by another Schengen country do not need to obtain an additional visa to enter Slovenia.
How do I apply for a visa?
You need to follow these steps:
- Register for the conference and pay the registration fee.
- Fill in the form below and send your request for a letter of guarantee to [email protected].
- After we have received the filled-in form we will issue a letter of guarantee and send you a copy by email and an original by post.
- Should you require the letter of guarantee immediately, please let us know. We can arrange a shipping by DHL. Please note that DHL costs need to be paid in advance.
- After you have received your letter of guarantee contact the embassy that can issue your visa.
