Plenary Speaker

Pascal Raybaud

Senior scientist in the Catalysis, Biocatalysis and Separation Division at IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN)

Pascal Raybaud is a senior scientist in the Catalysis, Biocatalysis and Separation Division at IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) with a strong expertise in computational catalysis. In 1998, he was graduated with a PhD in Chemistry jointly from Sorbonne Univ. (France), TU Vienna (Austria) and IFPEN. Since then, he has been working at IFPEN as researcher, project leader, and Chair holder. Since 2025, he is at the head of the Joint Laboratory ERACLECE between IFPEN, ENS de Lyon, Lyon 1 Univ. and CNRS, a collaborative research program in catalysis for low carbon processes and circular economy.

Bridging computational approaches with experiments, he contributed to the atomic scale understanding of heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysts from preparation to characterization and reactivity under realistic conditions, with direct relevance to industrial or prospective systems involving transition metal sulfides, oxides, metallic nanoparticles or organometallic catalysts.

In 2025, he received the EFCATS François Gault Lectureship Award.
